Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Theodoros's family in Piraeus
A sudden layoff left Theodoros short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

When my hours were cut in half in August, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Monday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,950.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $1,450
• Late fees and court costs: $115
• Utilities in arrears: $120
• First month of rent as a buffer: $265
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Sending love. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best.
your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in Surat donated after I showed her your page. God bless.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Theodoros.
It's all in the list in the story. rent arrears (5 months) is the big one at $1,450, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.
So sorry you're going through this, Theodoros. Shared this with my family. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Piraeus.
This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Piraeus.
