Stop the eviction: 4 months of rent for Nakato's family in Mwanza
After a long illness, Nakato is 4 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in June, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $260
• Late fees and court costs: $20
• Utilities in arrears: $40
• First month of rent as a buffer: $80
Glad we found this place.

Praying for you, Nakato. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.
