Stop the eviction: 4 months of rent for Maliha's family in Birmingham
After a sudden layoff, Maliha is 4 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in August, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Friday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $3,550.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I've 1 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $280
• Rent arrears (4 months): $2,950
• Late fees and court costs: $320

Thinking of you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours.
Sending love, Maliha. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Aberdeen.
sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care
Sending strength. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Birmingham so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Birmingham.
