Stop the eviction: 4 months of rent for Kiara's family in Mumbai
A termination letter arrived last week. Kiara needs $450 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Mumbai.

When the hotel closed in September, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Monday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $450.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $270
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• First month of rent as a buffer: $145
Thanks for reading all this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kiara
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rent arrears (4 months) comes first ($270) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
sending strength. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My husband and I read this together. Love from Portland!
sending good thoughts. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
Sending love, Kiara. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Kathmandu.
Shared this with my family. Thinking of Mumbai
