When the bakery closed in August, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Friday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $500.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I've 2 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.

Thank you all. We're at 50% now ($250). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for utilities in arrears is now scheduled.
Quick update: $60 raised so far (12%). the plan for late fees and court costs is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
