When my hours were cut in half in May, Javeria fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $400. The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, the family must leave. There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. Javeria has started working night deliveries, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done. Where the $400 goes: • Utilities in arrears: $25 • Rent arrears (2 months): $360 • Late fees and court costs: $15 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Iqra
