Maciej was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in July. The oncology team at Gdańsk Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Maciej is 45, worked as a construction supervisor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Gdańsk Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $145
• Transport to Gdańsk Regional Medical Center: $400
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,800
• Scans and lab work: $505
