Ifeanyi was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at Ogbomosho Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Ifeanyi is 43, worked as a tailor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ogbomosho Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $280
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $65
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $610
• Scans and lab work: $145
