Standing with Audrey: stomach cancer treatment costs
Audrey is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Audrey was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at Toronto Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Audrey is 54, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Toronto Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,900 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $800
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,750
• Transport to Toronto Cancer Centre: $670
• Scans and lab work: $680
