Ananya was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June. The oncology team at Salem University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Ananya is 50, worked as a taxi driver until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Salem University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,550 goes: • Scans and lab work: $230 • Household costs while unable to work: $250 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,000 • Transport to Salem University Hospital: $70 Thank you for reading my story.

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ananya.

Sure. The biggest one is scans and lab work, $230. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.

  • Hang in there. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.

    • You're not alone. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care

      • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
