School supplies and a laptop for Uğur in Istanbul
Uğur won a place at Istanbul Technical College but the family cannot afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Grade 9 at Istanbul Technical College, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the biology course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $350, which is more than we have.
I love biology and want to become a software developer. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag.
Where the $350 goes:
• Laptop: $190
• School uniform and shoes: $55
• Textbooks and workbooks: $80
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $25

Sending love, Uğur. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Istanbul.

sending strength, Uğur. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
hang in there. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
