School supplies and a laptop for Nyambura in Embakasi
Nyambura won a place at Embakasi Science Academy but the family can't afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Year 10 at Embakasi Science Academy, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the chemistry course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $150, which is more than we have.
I love chemistry and want to become an engineer. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
Items on the list: laptop, uniform, shoes, textbooks, calculator and a bag.
Where the $150 goes:
• Laptop: $75
• School uniform and shoes: $25
• Textbooks and workbooks: $20
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $30
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Nyambura
Good news. Because of your gifts ($93 in total) I made the first payment toward calculator, stationery and a school bag. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Update from Embakasi: I met with the school supplier and confirmed the amounts. We're at 17% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nyambura
Sure. The biggest one is laptop, $75. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
So sorry you're going through this, Nyambura. Hope you get there.
Wishing you peace, Nyambura. Looking forward to the next update. Take care
