Rebuilding after the storm: the families of Orchard Lane needs your help
Neighbors in the families of Orchard Lane are rebuilding after the storm; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The storm hit the families of Orchard Lane on 28 January. My home was one of 32 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $7,350 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $3,400
• Clean water and purification supplies: $1,000
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,150
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,050
• Tools and labor for repairs: $750
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Orla?
You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Berlin
You're not alone. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in St. Louis but we're thinking of you.
hope things get better soon, Orla. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Dublin.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Casablanca.
what exactly is the $7,350 for?
Sure. The biggest one is roofing sheets and timber, $3,400. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
Praying for you. Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of Dublin

Take care, Orla. Your post was clear and honest. After 28 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
