Plant 3,900 native trees around the Sycamore riverbank in London
Help us clean and replant the Sycamore riverbank before the August planting window closes.
🇬🇧 England, United Kingdom2,592 views
The Sycamore riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 96 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 185 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $230
• Tools and protective gear: $420
• Native saplings and stakes: $800
With deep gratitude,
Michael

Hope you get there. After 19 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of London.
looking forward to the next update. My husband and I read this together. Love from Radom.

Hang in there, Michael. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Best of luck. Looking forward to the next update. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out!
You're not alone, Michael. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
