Plant 2,100 native trees around Sycamore Beach in Brasília

Help us clean and replant Sycamore Beach before the September planting window closes.

Sycamore Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 94 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 154 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted. Where the $850 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $520 • Tools and protective gear: $75 • Waste removal and skip hire: $240 • Signage and educational materials: $15 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Updates from Heloísa

  1. Quick update: $116 raised so far (14%). I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($50). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward native saplings and stakes.
