Plant 1,950 native trees around Freedom Beach in Enugu
Volunteers are restoring Freedom Beach in Enugu; $350 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇳🇬 Enugu, Enugu, Nigeria1,071 views
Freedom Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 51 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 161 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $350 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $130
• Tools and protective gear: $35
• Waste removal and skip hire: $135
• Signage and educational materials: $50
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. Love from Da Nang.
how is Sani doing now?
Good luck, Sani. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless.
This could happen to any of us. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Enugu.
I hope things turn around soon. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Jakarta Selatan.
shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best
