Plant 1,750 native trees around the Lotus riverbank in Bellevue
Help us clean and replant the Lotus riverbank before the October planting window closes.
🇺🇸 Bellevue, Washington, United States1,531 views
The Lotus riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 42 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 168 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,450
• Tools and protective gear: $250
• Waste removal and skip hire: $570
• Signage and educational materials: $280
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Coyoacán but we're thinking of you. God bless.
Best of luck, Delilah. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Greetings from Wollongong.
