Lapu-Lapu
Liberty Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 106 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 168 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $350 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $165 • Tools and protective gear: $80 • Waste removal and skip hire: $70 • Signage and educational materials: $35 Thank you so much. - Jasmine

  2. Thank you all. We're at 15% now ($53). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. - Jasmine

  3. Update from Lapu-Lapu: the first invoice got paid this week. We're at 1% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
