Plant 1,450 native trees around the Cedar hillside in İzmir
Help us clean and replant the Cedar hillside before the February planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world1,042 views
The Cedar hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This November, 108 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 185 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $500 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $195
• Tools and protective gear: $105
• Waste removal and skip hire: $135
• Signage and educational materials: $65
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

how is Emre doing now?
wishing you the best, Emre. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Emre
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. native saplings and stakes comes first ($195) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Let me know if you want more detail.
Wishing you peace. Shared this with my family. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Ribeirão Preto
hope it all works out, Emre. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of İzmir.
