Plant 1,350 native trees around the Harmony canal in Sacramento
Help us clean and replant the Harmony canal before the January planting window closes.
🇺🇸 United States1,407 views
The Harmony canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This October, 47 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 59 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,450
• Tools and protective gear: $320
• Waste removal and skip hire: $400
• Signage and educational materials: $280
With deep gratitude,
Peng

is there anything that isn't money that would help Peng?
Take care, Peng. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Love from Thiruvananthapuram.
This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Sacramento.
