Payal was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in December. The oncology team at Tiruchirappalli Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in April. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Payal is 43, worked as a primary school teacher until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tiruchirappalli Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Household costs while unable to work: $145
• Scans and lab work: $240
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $615
