Odette is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at Saint-Denis Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,500.
The registrar has said Odette can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Odette has a distinction average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Odette would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Odette isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
