San Antonio
I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a pharmacy diploma at the San Antonio Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $4,200. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $4,200 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $360 • Final term tuition: $1,850 • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,990 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Marta

Exam and lab fees is $360 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.

    • hang in there, Marta. Shared it with a few friends. Please keep us posted

      • You're not alone, Marta. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Allentown

        • Wishing you peace. This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of San Antonio.
