Manisha is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at Pune State College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700.
The registrar has said Manisha can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Manisha has a top-ten-percent average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Manisha would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Manisha isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $700 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $270
• Final term tuition: $350
• Exam and lab fees: $55
• Textbooks and materials: $25
Thank you so much.

Thinking of you and your family. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn!
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I have a 11 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Bristol.
So sorry you're going through this, Shilpa. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
Thanks for sharing this, Shilpa. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care
Hope things get better soon, Shilpa. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My husband and I read this together!
