Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Zawadi in Dar es Salaam
Help Zawadi get a prosthetic leg so She can get to the shops and visit friends.
🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania648 views
I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Dar es Salaam Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $100.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $100 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $25
• Fitting and training sessions: $60
Thank you for reading my story.

Best of luck. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Dar es Salaam.
Thinking of you and your family. Hope you get there. We're a small family in São Paulo but we're thinking of you
