Michelle's final semester of a master's in public health in Bacoor
Michelle has worked and saved for three years to study a master's in public health; a $700 gap now stands between her and graduation.

Michelle is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a master's in public health at Bacoor University, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $700.
The registrar has said Michelle can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Michelle has a 3.8 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Michelle would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Michelle isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $700 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $410
• Exam and lab fees: $40
• Final term tuition: $250

Thanks for sharing this, Hazel. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Kumasi.
