Mercedes was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in July. The surgeon at Coyoacán University Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,200, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,550 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Coyoacán University Hospital since July. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mercedes struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
