Mensah was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February. The oncology team at Tema Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Mensah is 37, worked as a bakery worker until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tema Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,550 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,100 • Household costs while unable to work: $260 • Scans and lab work: $190 Thank you so much. - Yvonne

Best of luck, Yvonne. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
