Let's build a youth football pitch together in Nakuru
A community-led a youth football pitch at Maple Park that will serve 537 neighbors.
🇰🇪 Nakuru, Kenya904 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $230, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 537 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $175
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
Thank you for reading my story.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for John
Materials is $175 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.
Wishing you peace, John. Looking forward to the next update. It's not much but it's yours.
Praying for you. Shared this with my family. My neighbor in Kikuyu donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this, John. Shared this with my family. Don't give up. Thinking of Nakuru
Hang in there, John. More neighborhoods should do this. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Heliopolis.
Thanks for sharing this, John. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours
