Let's build a youth football pitch together in Lagos

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $550 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 170 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $35 • Permits and inspections: $60 • Materials: $455 Thank you for reading my story. - Victor

sending strength, Victor. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care
