Let's build a youth football pitch together in Galle
Volunteers in Galle are raising $500 for a youth football pitch at the old Baobab bus depot.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $190, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 583 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Galle.
Thank you. If you're in Galle I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Ask me anything else.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'm in customer support myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
Sending strength. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Put this on a community board in Riyadh this morning.
