Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Tacoma
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Pioneer Primary School that will serve 584 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $4,100.
It will serve about 584 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $4,100 goes:
• Materials: $3,200
• Permits and inspections: $135
• Safety equipment and signage: $480
• Tools hire and delivery: $285
