Durgapur
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 214 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $290 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Tools hire and delivery: $55 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Nirali

Stay strong, Nirali. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.

    • Hope things get better soon, Nirali. More neighborhoods should do this.

      • best of luck, Nirali. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My neighbor in Gatineau donated after I showed her your page.

        • Thinking of you, Nirali. Shared it with a few friends. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Quezon City.

          • Keep going. I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Addis Ababa but we're thinking of you. All the best.
