Let's build a free library and reading room together in Kazan

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 497 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $380 • Safety equipment and signage: $75 • Permits and inspections: $45 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
