Let's build a free library and reading room together in Gazipur

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 591 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $150 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $35 Thank you so much.
