Móstoles

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,150. It will serve about 444 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,150 goes: • Materials: $720 • Permits and inspections: $150 • Safety equipment and signage: $135 • Tools hire and delivery: $145 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Itzel

Hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Ribeirão Preto.
