Let's build a covered market stall space together in Amsterdam
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $2,900 for materials.
🇳🇱 Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands3,270 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,900.
It will serve about 205 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Materials: $2,250
• Permits and inspections: $200
• Safety equipment and signage: $130
• Tools hire and delivery: $320
I hope life is good to you.

Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Nagpur so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Amsterdam
How is Bram doing now?
Hope it all works out. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Hope things get better soon, Bram. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in Richards Bay this morning
Stay strong. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
