Let's build a community garden together in Feira de Santana
Volunteers in Feira de Santana are raising $1,150 for a community garden at Unity Park.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $380, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 253 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Materials: $1,050
• Permits and inspections: $30
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
