Laparoscopic endometriosis surgery for Elias: covering what insurance won't
Elias needs laparoscopic endometriosis surgery at Cleveland Community Hospital and the family is $4,450 short of the hospital's estimate.

In March I was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc. My surgeon at Cleveland Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for June. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $6,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $4,450 short.
Doctors at Cleveland Community Hospital told me a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. I work as a market vendor, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $6,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a market vendor have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. I'll not be able to climb stairs during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $4,450 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $340
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $440
• Post-operative medication: $270
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,400
