Teresa was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Mérida Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,850, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $2,150 short. my daughter has been in and out of Mérida Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,850 is more than we can find. While we wait, Teresa struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Teresa won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $2,150 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $940 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $660 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $185 • Post-operative medication: $80 • Physiotherapy sessions: $160 • Travel and lodging for the family: $125 If you're reading this, thank you.
