Landslide in Likoni: help Eastgate village rebuild
Neighbors in Eastgate village are rebuilding after the landslide; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇰🇪 Mombasa, Kenya902 views
The landslide hit Eastgate village on 2 February. My home was one of 85 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $410
• Clean water and purification supplies: $105
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $125
• Food parcels for displaced families: $230
• Tools and labor for repairs: $380
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Praying for you, Auma. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We're a small family in Dar es Salaam but we're thinking of you
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Auma
Roofing sheets and timber is $410 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks, that means a lot.
wishing you peace, Auma. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Likoni!
It takes guts to ask. Well done. Please keep us posted. Love from San Fernando.
sending love, Auma. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Paris.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Dar es Salaam.
Good luck, Auma. It takes guts to ask. Well done. All the best.
thinking of you, Auma. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Narayanganj.
Stay strong. More neighborhoods should do this. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Likoni.
