The electricity account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $100. I have never been late before losing my job in July. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have. I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $100 goes: • Electricity arrears: $35 • Reconnection and late fees: $20 • Down payment on a payment plan: $45 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Tejas
