After my partner leaving in August, I'm now raising a teenage son and a daughter in primary school on my own. I work as a driver, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as an electrician in the evenings, which will triple my income by October, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Rent top-up: $1,100
• Course fees and exam costs: $470
• Childcare and after-school care: $580
If you're reading this, thank you.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Justine
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rent top-up comes first ($1,100) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
Thinking of you. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Paris.
Thinking of you, Justine. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best
Best of luck. Looking forward to the next update. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Frankfurt
Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Paris.
