House fire that spread across the block in São Paulo: help the families of Riverside Lane rebuild
After the house fire that spread across the block, families in the families of Riverside Lane need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the families of Riverside Lane on 18 June. My home was one of 47 damaged, and 5 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $290
• Food parcels for displaced families: $175
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,035
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending strength, Caio. Great idea, hope you get there. My husband and I read this together.
Thanks for sharing this. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Newcastle this morning.
hang in there. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
stay strong. Hope this works out for you. Don't give up. All the best.
