Help Waylon finish a law degree at Bakersfield University - $4,500 to go
Waylon has worked and saved for five years to study a law degree; a $4,500 gap now stands between him and graduation.
🇺🇸 Bakersfield, California, United States1,491 views
Waylon is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a law degree at Bakersfield University, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,500.
The registrar has said Waylon can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Waylon has a 3.6 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Waylon would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Waylon isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $4,500 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,150
• Final term tuition: $3,000
• Exam and lab fees: $240
• Textbooks and materials: $110
