Help Vikas get back to civilian life: housing deposit and training
Vikas served eight years in the marines; $700 would cover a trained service dog and handler course.

I served eight years in the marines and was discharged in 2025 with a back injury. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $700.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $700 goes:
• Housing deposit and first month: $230
• Training provider fees: $400
• Transport to appointments: $70
With deep gratitude,
Vikas

keep going, Vikas. Shared this with my family. Put this on a community board in Kanpur this morning. God bless.
Thanks for sharing this. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Thinking of you and your family, Vikas. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Greetings from Cairo.
