Uzma was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in September. The oncology team at Islamabad Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Uzma is 38, worked as a bus conductor until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Islamabad Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,400 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,000 • Scans and lab work: $125 • Transport to Islamabad Cancer Centre: $105 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $55 • Household costs while unable to work: $115 Thanks for being kind about this.
