Malang
For fifteen years I have run a laundry service in Malang. In October, a fire in the building took two washing machines and a dryer. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $400 goes: • Replacing two washing machines and a dryer: $200 • Initial stock: detergent and packaging: $85 • Shop repairs and licensing: $55 • Working capital for the first month: $60 Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Tika

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($188 in total) the plan for initial stock: detergent and packaging is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Wanted to say thank you properly. 21% funded and I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

  3. We're at 9% thanks to 2 of you. the first invoice got paid this week. More news soon.
