Sita was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in June. The oncology team at Dallas Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Sita is 51, worked as a primary school teacher until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dallas Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $13,450 goes: • Scans and lab work: $1,650 • Transport to Dallas Cancer Centre: $1,100 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,950 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,750 Thanks for being kind about this.
