Sasithorn is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a pharmacy diploma at Chiang Mai State College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,050.
The registrar has said Sasithorn can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Sasithorn has a 3.9 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Sasithorn would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Sasithorn isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
